Ok, so this may be a bit of a rant than a blog but I feel like you all probably know me well enough to let this one slide.
Oh so too regularly have I seen inappropriate LinkedIn posts of late. I just wanted to remind you all as my lovely followers and clients that LinkedIn is a professional platform and posting what you did on the weekend, selling a product ie. your special deal for the week, creating an “I’m grateful for….” post or put up a pic of that beautiful vineyard you visited on your weekend away, or even that new home you may have purchased, it’s NOT appropriate.
Leave it for Facebook, images are also great to share on Pinterest and Twitter. I really don’t want to see it on LinkedIn where I go to learn tips about various industries, read blogs that people have written on appropriate business topics and to network on a business level.
The premise of LinkedIn and how it originally set itself apart from the other social media platforms is that it is professional and built to create business relationships.
It’s a great way to get your content across, build your brand and drive traffic to your website. Utilise the endorsement feature so people see you as the awesome person you are.
Do connect with lots of people as you just don’t know what door it will open but all I ask is that the content you share is appropriate.
If you want to discuss or even debate it further, please feel free to drop me a line.
