They did it again!

Facebook - dit it againYes, Facebook has once again changed the algorithm. As a marketer or business owner who manages their own Business Facebook page, this is yet another challenge in getting your posts seen, shared and liked.

It’s not all doom and gloom, as I’ve spent a little time investigating and it can still work in everybody’s favor!

Facebook have introduced topic feeds – Work & Money, Science and Tech, Home & Garden, Style and a whole lot more. You now have the ability to choose topics of your interest, allowing them priority to hit your news feed.

Each Facebook user will have content from family and friends reach their newsfeed first, then posts from the pages you are most interactive with.

The new algorithm will show each user feeds that they find interesting. So if you are a soccer nut or love all things food, the business pages of interest will show in your news feed, right after your family and friends. If you continue to interact with these pages by liking, commenting and sharing, they will keep coming into your newsfeed.

As a business owner, you need to make sure your content is informative, entertaining so that your posts continue to be shared. Now this is the golden nugget here! If your posts are shared and then commented on, you have struck gold.

It’s important to understand that paid advertising on Facebook is necessary and is no longer a “free” platform for any serious business owner.
